Easily the most raw album the band ever made and the one that’s the most purely new-wave-tinged, this disc is a bit atypical of the albums that would follow it, lacking the R&B, disco, and world-music influences and textures that would color the band’s discs later on, but David Byrne’s trademark quirky vocal delivery and lyrical style is already intact.
